Lecture Computer Architecture Winter Semester 2025 / 2026

- Mode: In-person with (interaction-free) Zoom streaming online-course with recordings
- Credits: 6 ECTS (3+1 hours, bi-weekly on Thursday it will be a 2h exercise class), HS36
- Dependencies: basic introduction to digital design

- Exercises: voluntary exercises, every second week on Thursday

Important change: unlike all previous year where the exam was at the very end of the exam period, this time it will be at the beginning of it!
Goals
The course is intended as an introduction into basic methods, techniques and questions related to computer architecture and design. The following aspects are of particular concern: assembly languages, arithmetic, data path and control, pipelining, hazards, memory hierarchy, interfacing, parallel computing.
